About

Hey, I’m Guillermo – a DevOps engineer at Red Hat.

This blog is where I write about things I find interesting, things that took me too long to figure out, and things I’ll probably forget if I don’t write them down. Sometimes it’s a proper guide, sometimes it’s just me thinking out loud.

What I’m into

  • 🐧 Linux – I spend a lot of time in the terminal, and I’m not sorry about it
  • 🐍 Python – my go-to for pretty much everything
  • 🗺️ Data Science & Maps – GIS, geospatial data, and making sense of messy datasets
  • 📦 Containers & DevOps – Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and the glue that holds it all together
  • 😴 Siestas – it’s a cultural thing
  • 🤖 Agentic AI & Automation – making machines do the boring stuff
  • 🔐 Cryptography – because privacy matters

What you’ll find here

Posts usually land somewhere around Linux, Python, data engineering, containers, and whatever else I happen to be tinkering with.

Background

I completed a Master’s in Big Data, Business Intelligence, and Secure Environments – minus the thesis, which I’m told is “the easy part.” I’ve worked across system administration, software engineering, data, and DevOps – and I like it best when they all overlap.
